“Shakutaku” a pressure point to relieve cough / 咳(せき)をラクにするツボ『尺沢』(しゃくたく)

“Shakutaku” (尺沢) is a pressure point on the outside of the stiff tendon above the crease on the inside of the elbow. It is located about two finger widths away from the center of the wrinkle on the thumb side. The red dot in the above figure is the pressure point.

It is said that coughing is relieved by pressing this pressure point that passes through the meridians of the lungs with a comfortable amount of force.

Also it is said that it is good to stimulate when you have the following symptoms.

Common cold, cough, sore throat, neck pain, stiff shoulder, arm pain (elbow / upper arm), asthma, vomiting, diarrhea, back pain, etc.

『尺沢』(しゃくたく)は、肘(ひじ)の内側のシワの上で硬い腱(けん)の外側にあるツボです。シワの中央から指約2本分親指側にいった場所にあります。上図の赤い点がツボです。

肺の経絡(けいらく)を通るこのツボをイタ気持ちいい力加減で押すことで、咳(せき)がラクになると言われています。

また、次のような症状があるときに刺激すると良いと言われています。

風邪(かぜ)・咳(せき)・のどの痛み・首の痛み・肩こり・腕の痛み(ひじ/上腕)・喘息(ぜんそく)・嘔吐(おうと)・下痢(げり)・背中の痛みなど
